  Location:   The Chanler is dramatically perched overlooking the ocean at the start of Newport’s famed Cliff Walk, where guests can stroll by the “summer cottages” of the Vanderbilts, the Astors, and many other luminaries of the Gilded Age.  A short walk down Memorial Boulevard also takes guests into the heart of the city…to the waterfront, shopping, dining, museums, and more.
       
  Architecture:   This three-story Georgian-style mansion was originally constructed in 1870.
       
  Accommodations:   20 rooms uniquely and exquisitely designed to reflect a different historical period or theme. There are three types of accommodation:

Manor Rooms: Located within the mansion, these rooms are elegantly appointed with custom made bedding, a queen or king-sized bed, working fireplace, wet bar and heated bathroom floors.

Estate Rooms:  The Estate Rooms offer a large living space as well as a double Jacuzzi tub.  These rooms are located within the mansion and adjacent to the mansion gardens.  The Briar Rose, Peonies & Ivy and English Trellis rooms offer an outdoor hot tub located within a private courtyard, surrounded by gardens, fountains and an Italian stucco wall.

Signature Rooms: The most exclusive, spacious and sumptuous accommodations in the mansion, the six Signature Rooms provide an unforgettable experience, perfect for the most special occasions.

       
 
  Guest Room Features:   All rooms have:

• Flat screen TVs

• Fireplaces (many of which are antique)
• CD Players
• DVD Players to play movies from the hotel’s extensive DVD library
• Marble or granite bathrooms with heated floors and multi-head showers with body jets and/or rain heads as well as exquisite hand-painted and hand-glazed tile murals

• Jacuzzi tubs
• King or queen canopy beds with luxurious 400-thread-count

  Dining:   Chef Kyle Ketchum oversees the culinary artistry at Spiced Pear, which offers seasonal gourmet New England seafood in a stunning setting, whose dramatic oceanfront terrace boasts some of the best views in Newport. Spiced Pear is open for dinner Thursday and Saturday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. The restaurant seats 45 in the Dining Room and 75 on the seasonal Veranda. The restaurant also offers a mahogany paneled private dining room which accommodates 10 guests for the Chef’s Tasting Menu only.
 
  Activities:   The Chanler provides easy access to the events and activities of Newport, “America’s First Resort,” including tours of the fabulous seaside mansions, golf, tennis, wine-tastings, Newport Harbor, shopping, dining, museums, festivals and much more.

Manor Rooms $275 to $795
Estate Rooms $375 to $895
Signature Rooms $475 to $1,195

Room rates are subject to all state and local taxes, currently a 7% state tax, 1% city tax, and 6% hospitality tax per night.
