Apparently Goldilocks Never Stayed With The Garrett Hotel Group Which Offers Fairy-Tale Bedding That You Can Buy For Your Own Home
If, like
Goldilocks, you have been searching for a bed that is “just right,” may we
suggest a visit to one of the properties managed by the Garrett Hotel Group:
The Point, Lake Placid Lodge, and The Inn of The Five Graces.
According to
Sueayn Wood, Director, Retail Operations, “Bedding is a very important part of
the hotel experience within our organization. We believe that our guests
deserve to enjoy every minute of their time with us, and sleeping often takes up
a large portion of each day of their stay.” As a result, the Garrett Hotel
Group set out to design a bed that would be a dream come true in terms of
comfort, softness, and warmth.
After much
testing, the Garrett Hotel Group installed their new mattresses in the Lake
Placid Lodge, and they are fit for a princess or a prince. The mattress is
extra deep, comprised of European memory foam encased in a deeply padded
matlessé quilted cover – and don’t worry, there is not a pea in sight.
The mattress
sits on a high profile, all wood foundation that gives the body a better
relationship to the mattress. But our tale does not end here. The Garrett
Hotel Group has completely reconstructed the essence of the featherbed and now
offers one with improved loft, resilience, and durability – its composition,
however, is a closely held secret.
The mattress
and featherbed are then enrobed in 212-count Egyptian and Belgian cotton sheets
hand-sewn in Belgium. “We feel that the actual feel of these linens is very
important since our guests’ bodies will be in direct contact with our sheets,”
adds Ms. Wood. And unlike many hotels that use flat sheets only, the Garrett
Hotel Group properties use fitted sheets that maintain a better fit with less
chance of bunching. Guests are also offered several choices of pillows, and
most beds are made up with soft, medium, and firm feather/down pillows
(poly-filled pillows are available in the guest room closet for those who may be
allergic to down). Finally, a wonderful Egyptian cotton, natural-colored
blanket that feels like a cloud completes the experience.
And what has
been the reaction to these beds? “We already sold over 60 of these mattresses
at the start of our season,” notes Ms. Wood. The featherbeds are priced at $500
each. The mattress and boxspring prices vary depending upon the size and
configuration and range from $2,500 to $4,000. She adds that the company is
offering professional cleaning services for the featherbeds at The Garrett Hotel
Group’s own laundry facilities and guests will be able to send their featherbeds
to the facilities to be cleaned and returned for a nominal charge.
And when you
consider that the average person spends approximately 23 years of his life
sleeping, it is no wonder that guests want to bring home the style of bed they
enjoyed on their fairy-tale getaway at these incredible hotels….
The Point,
Lake Placid Lodge and The Inn of The Five Graces, all operated by The Garrett
Hotel Group, are members of Relais & Châteaux, the prestigious international
association of privately owned hotels and restaurants embodying the highest
culinary standards and the French “art de vivre.”
