Private Adirondack Meeting
Destinations
Relais & Châteaux Retreats in the North Woods of New York
Nestled in the spectacular setting of New York’s Adirondack Mountains are two
luxurious old-fashioned resorts that provide an elegant yet relaxed “country
house party” atmosphere for your business retreat -- a far cry from the typical
corporate meeting environment. Depending on the size of your group, Lake
Placid Lodge or The Point both offer inspiring, “out-of-the-box”
settings that foster creative thinking and reward hard work. Both are members
of the exclusive Relais & Châteaux association, ensuring the highest levels of
accommodation, service, and dining -- at properties of great charm and distinct
character. A dedicated staff member will help you transform either property
into your own waterfront estate, planning all you need for your meeting on site,
as well as activities and excursions for your guests from among all the
Adirondacks have to offer.
Lake Placid Lodge, with 30 cabins and rooms, is a secluded lakeside
retreat, an idyllic spot for executive retreats and small conferences.
Strikingly furnished in rustic Adirondack style, a variety of handsome and
unusual spaces are ideal for meetings and gatherings, including:
-
The Wine Cellar, 176 square feet
-
The Den, 490 square feet
-
The Cloudspin, 900 square feet
-
The Lawn, in season, provides a refreshing
open-air space
The staff will be happy to make all necessary arrangements for a seamless
overnight event, whether the group is inclined to exert itself in the mountains
or relax on the dock – or both. Add to this the award-winning kitchen that will
customize the menus during your visit, and you have an ideal facility for a
truly memorable corporate event.
The Point, on the shores of Upper Saranac Lake, was built as a
“rustic” retreat for the William Avery Rockefellers, who prized the completely
private peninsula as a favorite home away from the hustle and bustle of the big
city. The Point remains a serenely luxurious refuge for guests today, and
perfect for executive retreats, with only eleven accommodations throughout the
original Great Camp property. The peaceful setting is enhanced by exceptional
dining, personal service, and a variety of recreational pastimes that make your
group feel as though they are still guests at a sumptuous house party. Meetings
and meals take place in the Great Hall, with its vaulted beamed ceiling,
imposing fireplace, and spectacular views. There are no televisions to distract
at The Point, and the vintage in-room telephones connect only to the front desk
and to fellow guests. Truly, a stay at The Point is a retreat to another,
simpler, more refined world. What a civilized way to take care of business.
The rates for securing the
entire property are adjusted seasonally and include rooms, tax, service,
gratuities and three meals a day. For more details about hosting an event or
meeting at Lake Placid Lodge, contact John Graham at 877.523.2700 or jgraham@lakeplacidlodge;
at The Point, contact Mark Stebbings at 800.255.3530 or mstebbings@thepointresort.com.
The Point, Lake Placid Lodge and The Inn of The Five Graces, all operated by
The Garrett Hotel Group, are members of Relais & Châteaux, the prestigious
international association of privately owned hotels and restaurants embodying
the highest culinary standards and the French “art de vivre.”
